"Khumbulani" means "Remember" in isiXhosa โ a powerful call to our community to never forget the children who need us most. Founded in 2011 by N M Msitho, our organisation was born from the urgent need to provide a safe haven for vulnerable, abandoned, and at-risk children in Khayelitsha.
As a registered NPO (No. 091-093), we operate as a voluntary organisation driven by passionate individuals who believe that every child deserves safety, love, and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
From our base at No. FF 127, Town Two, Khayelitsha, we serve the Western Cape community with a comprehensive range of social services focused on child welfare, day care, foster care, adoption, and child development.

Khumbulani Children's Place of Safety was officially registered as an NPO (No. 091-093) by founder N M Msitho, opening its doors in Khayelitsha.
Our first structured day care programme began, providing safe care and early learning for children of working parents in the community.
We expanded our foster care services, partnering with social workers to place vulnerable children in safe, nurturing family environments.
Our dedicated child development centre opened, offering structured educational and therapeutic programmes for children in our care.
Celebrated a decade of service to the Khayelitsha community, having provided safety and care to hundreds of vulnerable children.
Today we continue to grow, expanding our services and reaching more children and families across the Western Cape.
